Lambda Pi Upsilon Sorority, Latinas Poderosas Unidas, Inc. was founded by six women, known as our Six Pillars of Strength, with the intent to diversify the SUNY Geneseo collegiate community through cultural awareness and academic enrichment.
Their vision extended far beyond one’s collegiate experience, and hoped that with strength in numbers they’d one day develop an impervious network of women who lead and empower with Love, Dignity and Pride.
Today, the intent of our Six Pillars enables empowerment across countless campuses, and can be recognized as a legacy for those who choose the Lambda Way.
Joining an undergraduate entity of LPiU is a wonderful way to connect with like-minded individuals and make a positive impact on your college campus.
To explore membership possibilities, we invite you to participate in our national or chapter events, reach out to us here, or connect with a local chapter. We encourage interested women to get to know our organization, and upon establishing contact with our national or chapter members, you’ll receive detailed guidance on the membership process.
For graduate students and alumnae, LPiU offers an avenue that allows women to continue their involvement and contribute to our mission as a professional. If you are interested in creating connections and exploring our sorority post-graduation, please reach out to our Glorious Graduate Zeta Alumnae Chapter.
We also encourage interested women to get to know our organization by attending our events as well as networking with our members on our various platforms. Upon contacting our National or Zeta Chapter members, you’ll receive detailed guidance on the membership process.
LPiU is proud to be one of the youngest Latina-based, all-inclusive, Greek-lettered organizations in the country. If our organization is not currently present on your campus, we’re excited about the possibility of expanding our reach.
If you’re interested in learning more about expansion, don’t hesitate to reach out and inquire about the potential for bringing our organization to your campus. We’re always open to exploring new opportunities and connecting with women who share our mission and values.
Although LPiU may have previously been active on your campus and experienced a period of inactivity, we are excited about the possibility of revitalizing and reactivating our presence, pending interest and acceptance by your campus.
If you’re interested in contributing to the resurgence of the respective chapter, feel free to inquire about the reactivation process. With your help, we can continue to fulfill our mission and expand our reach to new women who may be interested in our organization.
Glorious Zeta Alpha | New York City, NY
"I joined LPiU because I loved the idea of women coming together to make a difference in their local communities. Uplifting one another, forming lifelong bonds of sisterhood, and celebrating the unique diversity of women of color, were all key motivating factors in my decision."
Courageous Chi | Wichita, KS
"As a transfer online student, I felt that it was very hard to make friends and connections. LPiU has helped me grow my family and friends. I feel the most love with my Hermanas!"
Sensational Sigma | Bridgeport, CT
"I joined the organization because I saw how the Hermanas upheld themselves on campus. They were leaders, started traditions and legacies, and were proud to wear our letters. I have met a lifetime of sisters and it is always a great time when we spend time with each other."
Glorious Zeta Alpha | New York City, NY
"This organization has taught me how to carry myself in a professional manner and with confidence. I am truly grateful for the bonds I have created with Hermanas in all different walks of life who are there to offer advice in any possible way."
Outrageous Omicron | Lynbrook, NY
